Within the Olive Gardens of Centorini large individual plots of around 3000m2 have been established, each lot has a specified building envelope. These have been positioned so that buildings are set back into the landscape, whilst maximising view shafts and securing spectacular lake and rural views.
The topographical aspect of Centorini, in its totality, coupled with the unique idiosyncrasies of each house site will determine to a greater or lesser extent the orientation and floor plan format.
Building platforms have been strategically positioned so that any dwellings will gain maximum benefit from the panoramic view shafts without dominating the hillsides and ridgelines. Complementary to this it is expected that rooflines will reflect the slope of the hill, and be supplemented by the utilization of natural materials, non-reflective finishes and concealed lighting. It is envisaged that the usage of low impact design principles will facilitate the symbiotic blending of structures and their environs.
